The purpose of Coffee Shop Talks is to get producers into one-on-one conversations with industry experts allowing them to ask any questions they may have about their farm production including, but not limited to, topics on insects, weeds, diseases and soils and while still being in a comfortable and laid-back setting. Learning should not come along with extra pressures. We want producers to get their hands on as much industry knowledge as possible to help make Saskatchewan wheat producers more productive and profitable. Join us Nov. 5, 2025!

MORE TO COME!
We try to reach all areas of the province to bring value to all Saskatchewan producers. Let us know where you would like to see Coffee Shop Talks hosted next winter!
Attendees are asked to show up at 8 a.m. to grab coffee and locally made snacks before settling in! Producers sit at any table they want, but that will be their assigned seat for the remainder of the event. There will be 1-2 reserved spots for industry experts per table. Sask Wheat’s Communication & Events Coordinator, Montana Getty-Hilash will introduce the event and get it kicked off with a joke and some general event information.
A 12-minute timer will begin and producers get to chat with the 1-2 industry experts sitting at their table in a 12-minute round. With such a short window of time, these conversations are meant to be brief and continued more in-depth later on when the one-on-one portion of the event continues. Topics are open to producers, however, we do hope wheat is the main focus. Producers are encouraged to take notes on interesting topics with each expert they chat with throughout the day. Montana will give a five-minute warning and a one-minute warning to let everyone know how much time is left in that round to wrap up conversations.
Ring ring! Once the timer goes off, Montana will ask the experts to get up and move to the table to their left. Once the experts are seated, Montana will start another 12-minute timer and the next round begins again! There will be many 12-minute rounds so that each table of producers will be able to talk to each set of experts. There will be breaks in-between as well.
At 11 a.m., once all the rounds are done, everyone is encouraged to grab another coffee, some mores snacks, and continue their conversations with the experts who interested them the most. This portion of the event is for networking and creating relationships between industry experts and producers before the morning wraps up at 12 p.m.!
