Western Canadian farmers are being penalized for early adoption of being better stewards of their land and now will compete against other countries who arrived late to no-till farming and benefited from technology bought and paid for in western Canada. Farms in western Canada will be at a monumental disadvantage to other nations; we were pioneers in soil conservation and are now being penalized for it.
